Borders ~ I've Been Bad AGAIN

I had to go back to the doctor's yesterday, just a check up after my day surgery. He has put me on some different tables in the hope that these might spot my nausea, one can only hope. Anyway after I left the doctors I went to borders just for a look mind you. Yeah right, as if, I should know better.

So what did I buy this time? Well I got my first Anne Gracie novel YA. 'The Perfect Kiss', I've heard some very good reviews about this book, so I'm very excited about reading it. I also got Lucy Clark, 'Her Very Special Baby', Jennie Adams, 'To Love And To Cherish', Anne Oliver, 'Business In The Bedroom', and Trish Morey, 'The Sheikh's Convenient Virgin'. I just don't know which to read first, plus I still have a mile and a half of other novels to read. Sigh, just not enough hours in my day to fit everything in.

While I was in Borders I had to do some shelf rearranging. I mean how rude can they be? Fancy putting our own fantastic Trish behind the Mother's Day Special box when they clearly have enough of them out on display. Well Trish is front and centre now, as is Anne Oliver. They had her behind someone else, not good enough. When will these people learn that they should be promoting our own authors. I just know I'm going to have to go over to my two local Big W stores and do some more rearranging, oh and K-Mart as well. ;-)
Now I didn't just buy novels, I also bought Susie Bright's 'How to Write a Dirty Story', yes I know I'm suppose to be writing contemporary romance. Just couldn't help myself, I have started an erotic novel so thought this might help. Mind you if I do decide to go the erotic way, my daughter has told me to use a different name. (Cheeky little devil). I also got Louise Jordan's How To Write For Children - and get published', this one to help me with my stories I'm writing about my grandson's adventures. :-). For reference books I picked up 'Sex Slang' by Tom Dalzell and Terry Victor, very interesting book, IMHO. And because my spelling is just atrocious I got 'The McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Misspelled and Easily Confused Words'. So as you can see I had another fun fill day in my little slice of heaven.

Oh, I also got this cute journal; Books To Check Out, you write down all the books you want to read, borrow or lent, and your favourite books. So I'm making my list of books I want to buy. I now know they can get me some of Anne Whitfield's, so next time I'm down there I'm going to place my order. I'll also have my list to take to my local library, hopefully I'll be able to get them to stock a few of our own brilliant authors ;-).

Okay that's me for another blog. I'm going to do some housework, YUCK. I've put SVEN on hold for a couple of days, I'll get back into that on Monday. Have a great weekend everyone.

Easter and Family

I hope you all had a lovely Easter and that the Easter Bunny was nice to you all. Friday we spent with my family. One of my nephews and his wife returned fro England just before Christmas, but this was the first chance we have had for us all to get together. It was a lovely day, a chance to catch up with family members you only see now and then. Saturday we went up to have some time with my Step-Mother-in-law, she is such a sweetheart. I know I don't spend near enough time with her, that is something I really need to change. When you are lucky enought to have someone so special come into your lives, you should really make the effort to let them know you care.

Of course as far as my writing goes, wipe-out. I haven't done any editing since Tuesday I think. If it wasn't my ear giving me hell, it was my web site. The web site I think I may have pretty well sorted, there are a few things I'd like to change or add things here and there, but on a whole I'm happy with it at the moment. I own a big thanks to all that helped me out with the fine tuning. Do you like my little Sven counter? Portia Da Costa made it, soooo cute. I made a couple and put them on my home page, one is a countdown to the RWAustralia conference. I was quite pleased with myself. If you would like to have a look I also did one for NaNoWriMo.

So that is me for the moment. I'm off to do some housework, YUCK. Tomorrow I plan to be back at my computer working away on my editing and stories.

New Respect for Website Builders

Yes, I have a new respect for people who spend their days doing web sites. I have spent the better part of the day reworking my web site.

Did you know that your site can look completely different depending on which web browser you use. I had a few people tell me that some of my headings were over running paragraphs. Absolutely amazing. I thought you did your thing then put it on the web. Yeah right, not even close.

So today I had three different browsers going to check how I was going. I'd do a bit save it, Then check the browser's. I had to do away with my side bar links thingy to my pages, all three were showing different results. One was perfect, everything where it should have been. But the other two, shutter, just the thought of it. So I dumped it all, looks better now anyway I think. I checked out some of the other girls sites and they only have the navigator bar.

I also found this really cool link widget thingy. My blog is linked to it so if you're on my site you can read my blog there. So cool.

As you can imagine, I've done no writing or editing today. Plus the fact that my ear is giving me hell. Had to get Jim to drive me over shopping, I had enough trouble walking in a straight line let alone try to drive. Hence I didn't go for my review with the doctor either, put that off until next week.

Thanks everyone for your comments about my site and to all those lovely people that let me know I had a few problems and or mistakes a big THANK YOU, it is good to know that you took the time to read what I had to say.

Okay that is more then enough dribble for one night. Hope you all have a great Easter.

I have a dot com

Yes, I have finally taken the step and now have a dot com. I've been working on the site on and off for a few weeks. I hope I have all the bugs and mistakes out off it, so if you have time please have a look and see what you think. So here it is:

I'm off now to do some more editing.

Saturday ~ Slump Week

Yes it's Saturday and I've hit a slump this week. I've only written about 1,600 words all week, (well on my novels, done plenty of other writing.) Miss Procrastination arrived in all her glory ready to play, sending my characters AWOL. Damn pesky busy body. So for all my efforts I now have a new site to play with 'Pagii' my site is:

It's a cool site and Miss P had me playing there for a couple of days. She is such a bad girl.

Anyway I'm hoping now she will go and bother someone else and leave me to my writing. Until next time.

Day 5 of Sven & 2nd Sign-in

Moving along pretty well with my latest project. So far I’ve written just over 6,000 words since Sven started on Saturday. I’m also just under 25,000 words for the novel, still untitled.

I seem to be doing everything back to front on this novel. I always have a title picked out before I start my writing and I know, or at least have names for my characters. At this stage I have a first name for my heroine but no surname. I’m also not at all happy with either my hero or heroines names. Oh well, if they are any thing like my other characters they’ll let me know what their names should be somewhere down the track.

Right now I’m heading off to bed, it’s 12.40 am here. Yet another late night. I’ll blog again soon.
