Monday Madness ~ Editing

Yep, you guessed it I'm back editing. Just to make things interesting, I'm not just editing one novel, no, I'm editing three. Well the first fifty pages of three anyway, of which I'll pick the one I'm going to enter in the Valerie Parv Awards.

So the Romance 109 Bootcamp finished at the weekend, and it was fantastic. All I need to do now is use the information I learnt and use it to better my writing. My fellow bootcampers and I have started a critique group so that should be helpful and interesting.

I was on you tube earlier and come across this video, plus there are more so I thought I might post a different one each day for a while. they look like they will be very helpful with my editing at least. This first one is a problem I think I may have. LOL.

Wednesday's Wisdom

The week is not going at all as I planned. I was going to be knee high in editing and rewrites by today. Not happening people. Instead I'm either sitting with my bunged up foot up on the foot rest of the lounge watching telly, (Yes I know I could be editing but my mind is just not there) or I'm walking around the house on the phone to my sister trying to work out what we can do for my Mum. She had another fall last night. This is the second in two days. At least tonight she'll be okay as my younger brother is going to take her over to his place for the night. Tomorrow he'll take her to the doctors. Oh have to tell you my foot is a lovely shade of purple today. LOL.

I missed out on the next round of Karin Tabke 'One Line' contest. I'm not surprised, I should have stuck with my original sentence and not fiddled. But I'm happy with how I went just the same.

The writing Bootcamp I signed up for is getting close. I'm looking forward to that, but I really, really need to get some editing done on the piece I want to use for that. The other participants all are great, seeing as I know most of them makes that easier.

Okay here's some words of wisdom for a few of the greats, seeing as it is Wednesday's Wisdom.

"What is The Subconscious to every other man, in its creative aspect becomes, for writers, The Muse." ~Ray Bradbury~

"The best antidote to writer's block is ... to write." ~Henriette Anne Klauser~

“Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don't feel I should be doing something else.” ~Gloria Steinem~

"It is worth mentioning, for future reference, that the creative power which bubbles so pleasantly in beginning a new book quiets down after a time, and one goes on more steadily. Doubts creep in. Then one becomes resigned. Determination not to give in, and the sense of an impending shape keep one at it more than anything." ~Virginia Woolf~

Frantic Friday ~ Fantastic Failure

So it was frantic Friday today and you know what I did? I watched two DVDs. Yep, no writing, no editing and no writing reviews. I am soooo slack. The DVDs I watched were 'The Duchess' and 'The Edge of Love' both starred Keira Knightley and both I thought were fantastic. But than I think Keira does period pieces so well. Then just to top it all off I came up with an idea for a new novel. Just what I need, NOT. Anyway I'm going to do some research and see where it leads me. But I am Not starting a new novel YET.

On another note, I'm all signed up for the RWA Bootcamp later this month. It should be great and I'm looking forward to learning heaps. More on that as the time gets closer.

I'll do reviews on both DVDs soon. Okay I know it's a short post today, but at least I posted. LOL.

Frantic Friday

Now where the hell did this last week go? And the month for that matter. Is it just me or is time going faster now I'm older? I am quite pleased with myself today, I had another good day on the writing front, 4,752 words for the day so far, and I have reached my target goal of 20k for the month. (See my new challenge winners logo way cool hey). So YAY me. 'The Godmother's Wish' total 20,111 words.

I'm not sure if I'll get much more done today but I really would like to have 'The Godmother's Wish' finished by tomorrow. That way I can go back to working on my editing. Let's face it I have more than enough of that to do. i am even going to convince some other person that bugs me from time to time to do some editing. (Wish me luck with that one).

I'm going to be doing a Writer's Bootcamp with two writing buddies of mine Monique Wood and Anita/Ellanora Joy (we are going to have heaps of fun and of course learn even more) anyway we are doing this in February over two Saturdays.
For now I think I'll try to do a bit more writing and see how I go until hubby comes in for dinner. Fish with crab and prawns sauce is on the menu tonight, he should enjoy that as a meal.
See ya tomorrow with my Sexy Saturday inspiration.
