June Ends, July Starts

I’ve been slack AGAIN, and I’m not even going to try and say it’s because I’ve been writing and editing up a storm because that would be a half truth. I have been writing and editing but not near enough to reach my goals this month. The other half I’ve been procrastinating, mostly because my stupid computer has had major Male moments. Yes, poor excuse I know.

Anyway the month is over and I need to focus on moving forward. This morning I had a light bulb moment. I’ve been doing my reviews and thinking this is NOT working! Why? I don’t have enough conflict. I’ve also been going back over my notes from Bootcamp, which is why I had the light bulb moment. My conflict between my hero and heroine is wishy washy, dull, poring, bloody pitiful really. Aren’t I lucky July is editing month, as well as August and September, and the way things are looking so will October. Here’s my plan, I have the stories written. That’s a good start, now I’m going to go over each sentence, paragraph, page and chapter pulling them apart and putting them back together. I’ll make a list of the conflicts I have and how to improve them. Even the seven chapters I’ve already edited are getting another going over. WHO the hell said writing was easy?

In other news my new reviews for Fallen Angel Reviews are up on my review site. The Clayton’s Conference is coming together, hoping to have that sorted well in advance of time. I got the judges score sheets from the Valerie Parv Contest and my scores were much the same
as other judges so that was good. I’ve joined a group that is working their way through Donald Maass’s Writing the Breakout Novel workbook, now this I’m looking forward to, it should help me with my conflict problems. Oh and I got my books from Amazon that I ordered, so excited. I also bought a couple of books from Borders the other day, yes I’ve well and truly used up my book budget for the next few months, except for the Margie Lawson course I’m going to get. All I need is time to read them all.
Okay sitting here chatting like this is not going to get anything done. I’ll be BACK.

Happy writing.

Saturday ~ Slump Week

Yes it's Saturday and I've hit a slump this week. I've only written about 1,600 words all week, (well on my novels, done plenty of other writing.) Miss Procrastination arrived in all her glory ready to play, sending my characters AWOL. Damn pesky busy body. So for all my efforts I now have a new site to play with 'Pagii' my site is: http://www.pagii.com/sandiehudson

It's a cool site and Miss P had me playing there for a couple of days. She is such a bad girl.

Anyway I'm hoping now she will go and bother someone else and leave me to my writing. Until next time.

Friday Night and Feeling ??????

What was my day like today? I went to the doctors, he now thinks I might have an ulcer. An ulcer what good is that to ME!! Blood pressure was not bad, not good, but better then last time. YEH. Kidney fiction is down again. BOOHOO. I got into trouble from my hubby and daughter because I didn't tell my doctor everything, but I get in there and my mind goes blank, (okay my mind is blank a lot of the time) it's like I don't know, I just forget half the things I should be telling him. Anyway I have to have more blood test, yuck another needle. Then I have to have a gastroscopy, needles AGAIN!! Have I told you I HATE needles? Yeah I'm sure I did. I had hubby home with me today, he has my flu, (poor baby) nothing like sharing.

On the writing front, I looked over a couple of my WIP. My plan is to get back into it all again next week. I have spend waaaay too long letting Miss P run my life, so she is out the door. It's a pity it's not winter here here I could have kicked her out in the cold to freeze her buns off. Anyway she is going to be out of here.

I also joined Anne Whitfield's Historical Fiction Book site. It's a place where authors, publishers and readers of historical fiction can chat and swap information. It's something like Bebo and MySpace on a smaller scale at the moment. But they are all so friendly. So click on my badge on the side or here http://historicalfictionbooks.ning.com/profile/SandieHudson and and it will take you to my Site. I also joined Novel Sisterhood it's a Yahoo group of romance authors and readers. It's run by Mary Martinez, Cindy Spencer Pape, Rita Karnopp, Judith Rochelle and Elyssa Lynne. Mary is going to have Workshops on I think it's the 3rd Sunday of each month. You have to be a member to participate so go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/novelsisterhood/?yguid=327075132 to join. Both groups are growing fast.

What else have I been doing with Miss P to waste time? Well I re-designed my MySpace site and Made my own Bebo skin (which I was quite pleased with myself). I've done some more to my web page, but I think I might have to much on there, I think I'll take my photo page off. Oh and I've been playing on Facebook, Miss P is very happy with that site. She has lots of fun there. Oh and I've been sleeping, well laying around really and watching my Grey's Anatomy DVD's because I'm missing McDreamy. So that is me for today, catch ya again soon.

Procrastination

Yes! That is what I am doing!!!!!

I’ve been very bad since the last SVEN check in. I haven’t done a thing and there is no real good reason for it. I could have found the time if I wanted too.

So what have I been doing? I’ve been visiting family and friends for Christmas. Oh and I had my grandson for a couple of days because he was sick and couldn’t go to sick. He is such a crack up. He’s eight going on eighty.

Anyway I need to get back into editing and writing. I’ve come up with some more novel ideas, just what I need more people in my head. Oh and writing long hand sucks. I’m still resting my wrist as much as possible, not that it is helping any. I think that is why I’m letting little Miss Procrastinate talk me out of doing anything on my WIP. Just the thought of having to write long hand only to have to type it all into the computer later. No it far easier just to leave it. See this is what happens when we get to used to all our mod cons. We turn into lazy, lazy people. Well I have anyway.

So I’ve had my whinge, it is now time to pick my butt up and do some work.

Until next time. Happy writing.
